Guidance and musings for our next evolution

Why the whole world feels like it's on a ballot right now

If you've been refreshing results from countries you've never visited, you're not alone… this week, it feels like the whole world is voting on what comes next. So let's take 10 minutes to look at what's really moving, why your body might be buzzing with it, and where the good news is hiding.

This week's sky

The Full Moon in Taurus rose the same night the results were coming in from Serbia and Brazil. Full Moons bring completion, so this is a time to close out what's finished. Taurus rules what we value and what makes us feel safe, so if this week has you feeling everything in your body, that's the moon asking you to slow down, get your feet on the earth and come back to what really matters to you.

Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, so recounts, revisions and results that take days instead of hours are right on schedule. It's a time for reviewing and finishing, so read things twice and give the final word a little more time to arrive.
Oct 25 to
Nov 13
Venus is retrograde back in Libra, the sign of the scales. Balance, fairness and who we're in partnership with are all up for review, in our relationships and in our governments.

The Sun is in Scorpio, and Scorpio season pulls what's been hidden up to the surface, so power and who holds it is the conversation everywhere right now.

Why does every election feel like an earthquake?

In Serbia, a movement that started with students after a train station canopy collapsed in Novi Sad and killed 16 people just won Sunday's election, with the highest turnout in more than 30 years, ending the governing party's 14 years in power. In Brazil, the presidential runoff came down to a few points on the very same day. And in Israel, people turned out on Tuesday at a record pace, and the exit polls are so close that the final count will take days. And in France, student protests over teacher shortages and run-down schools have grown into a nationwide movement, with about 550,000 people marching on a single Saturday, while the government fights over its budget ahead of next spring's presidential election.

And here at home, nearly 33 million people have already voted in the midterms before Election Day next Tuesday, November 3rd, more than a quarter of everyone who voted in the last midterms. There's also a record number of women running for state legislatures… 3,824 of them, more than ever before.

So what's really going on? The old structures are being put to a vote, everywhere at once. People who haven't voted in years are showing up, young people are leading, and the margins are razor thin, because the collective is deciding which way we go next. It's the same thing that happens to a client right before her primary pattern clears… it gets louder, it gets uncomfortable, and then it finally moves.

So if your body feels it, if you're anxious or wired or tired of checking your phone, that's the collective energy moving through you. Be sure to care for your nervous system, and don't hold on to any energy that's not actually yours or that isn't going to serve you.

Imagine being born without some of your adult teeth, and being told your only options are implants or dentures for the rest of your life. Dr. Honoka Kiso is the co-founder and CEO of Toregem Biopharma, a Kyoto University spin-out building a drug designed to help the body grow those teeth on its own.

The first safety study in adults is done, and the company says it was safe. Now the drug is heading into its first trial in 24 children who were born missing teeth, and the goal is to bring it to patients by 2030. It hasn't been shown to regrow human teeth yet… but a woman leading a company that's trying to help the body regenerate what it lost? That's our next evolution.

What we can do this week

Put your energy where it counts

Pick one thing you can actually influence this week, whether that's your vote on November 3rd, a conversation with someone you love or a boundary you've been putting off, and give it your full attention. Then let the rest go.

Ceci's sleepover extravaganza

Anyone raising a daughter knows she's raising the next generation of leaders… but first, that kiddo is probably going to boss you around and hand it to you. I have to say, raising Ceci has taught me to be intuitive about the things that matter most and relax about the things that don't.

This last weekend was her Halloween sleepover party with her friends. I don't think these little ladies will be the ones out drinking all night in their teens like I was… they're already showing signs of being the ones who make the crudité plate and a 10-layer plan before every get-together. Which is amazing for the future, but not so easy for the now :)

I got them to sleep by 10:20, and they were up at 5:15am, Chatty Cathy-ing away. I'm not quite sure what they had to talk about, but it was very important. I slept Sunday night and right through Monday… and I'm feeling better now.

I'm curious… what do you sense about our next evolution?

Virtual hugs,
Tamara 🌹
